Money

Man’s predatory instincts may have been borne out of greed and materialism. In recent years, our society has evolved into a place where the rich must plan to protect assets or risk losing them as a result of financial calamity from potential lawsuits (Prescott, Business, Legal, and Tax Planning, 1994). Money will satisfy the cravings and prayers of most but not all plaintiffs. Only fools sue the destitute for money. The bigger the purse, the stronger the magnetic pull. Plaintiffs beget defendants.

Everyone is a potential defendant, including you. Yes, you. A lawsuit with catastrophic results could happen even if you are just walking, driving, working or doing business. Modern-day wolves are on the prowl to fleece the Iamb (that’s you). The age of cyberspace and e-commerce has increased the risks against your property. We now have Web site domain infringement, cyber industrial espionage, stock manipulations from online investors, misinfonnation funneled through chat rooms, attack Web sites, online fraud, competitive spying and other cyber activities and crimes. The intrusion spawned by the Internet may have compromised some of your privacy rights. Information about your properties is accessible to the rest of the world in an expanding global economy. The Internet is quickly being transformed into a vast realm of nightmares instead of a field of dreams.
